Communion, Companionship and Collaboration

Communion

Hoping you’re not struggling too much with your devotional life right now. I’ve found most people are struggling more than they care to admit. Spending time with your Creator God regularly is a life changer so it’s not surprising you experience a bit of resistance! When I am struggling I try ‘Take Five’ setting the timer on my watch or phone for five mins and then shutting my eyes, I breath in and out slowly repeating ‘I love you God, I love you Jesus, I love you Holy Spirit.’ After five minutes I’m usually feeling calmer and more connected, and press RESET for another five changing the words to ‘I praise you Father, I praise you Jesus, I praise you Holy Spirit.’

Companionship

Hoping you have someone to encourage and accompany you on your journey. However, I know from experience that there are some parts of the journey we find ourselves alone and in those moments a good book can really help. A couple of books I’ve been reading are:

  • Light Through the Cracks: How God Breaks in When Life Turns Tough by Joanna Watson. https://www.joannawatson.co.uk/books/
  • The Sexual Reformation: Restoring the Dignity and Personhood of Man and Woman by Aimee Byrd.
  • Women Remembered: Jesus’ Female Disciples by Joan Taylor and Helen Bond.

Collaboration

So there are so, so many great resources available now to support women in leadership/ministry and egalitarian marriages and leadership models. Take a look at:
